Uterine fibroids is basically a tumor mainly known as uterine leiomyomata, not exactly a disease but an extra growth of smooth muscle cells and fibrous connective tissues sometimes seen within the wall of uterus. This problem is commonly found in females who are obese. These kinds of tumors are non-cancerous but on the other end, it might bring some complications to health. The extra cell muscle usually grows below the lining of the uterus, some of them enlarge between the muscles of the uterus and sometimes they grow towards the exterior side of the uterus. The size of the tumors differs accordingly some develop in clusters and or a single nodule is grown.
Talking about the causes or symptoms, no such identification has been finalized by the researchers but on the other end usually females get to know when they have hormonal changes in their body or by genetic and environmental changes this is noticed. Many of the women face pain issues or heavy bleeding during their menstrual cycle. Coming on to the treatment, going through a surgery is not that necessary, perhaps if people prefer for getting this removed, the treatment that comes is uterine fibroid embolization (UFE). In the uterine fibroid & artery embolization treatment, the patient undergoes an invasive procedure where a small tube is injected into an artery that flows towards the uterine artery.
Further the procedure allows the radiologist to hand in a small plastic bead into the artery that basically supplies blood to the uterine tumor. On the other end, the blood that flows towards the tumor is blocked or hindered causing it to shrink and mold back to the normal position.
